WE BURNED LESS THAN 10 GALLONS AND REDEFINED WHAT A 32-FOOTER CAN DO
We left New York in a narrow weather window—ice on the roads, snow in the forecast. After a quick stop in North Carolina to check in with our builders and other vendors, we landed in Florida ready to test.
This wasn’t a demo. It was a shakedown. We took the opportunity to run this winter test while our electric powertrain was out for upgrade—getting replaced with next-generation batteries and engines. In the meantime, we rigged the boat with twin 150HP gas engines running on 12-gallon external fuel bags, loaded 30-gallon ballast bags to simulate real-world weight, and ran it through everything the day could throw at us: glassy flats, tight channels, heavy chop, and the infamous Haulover Inlet (see the clip on Instagram).
The HYFOIL 32 didn’t flinch. It tracked like it was on rails. It stayed level, fast, and dry—even when the water got confused. We tested multiple load profiles, using 30-gallon water ballast bags to simulate everything from a light setup to full gas tanks to a battery-electric configuration carrying six passengers. We logged speed, RPM, and fuel burn data. Across every profile, the message was clear: speed, efficiency, and control.
We also made time for the Miami Boat Show—connecting with top innovators, industry insiders, and future partners. The response to HYFOIL’s performance and versatility confirmed what we already knew: we’re building something the market’s been waiting for. It was another reminder that HYFOIL is part of a growing movement toward smarter, more sustainable performance on the water.
WHY EFFICIENCY MATTERS
Over the course of two full days of real-world testing, we burned less than 10 gallons per day.
That’s 2.75 to 3.25 MPG. Most boats in this class average just 1.5 to 2.0 MPG, making the HYFOIL 32 30–50% more efficient, mile for mile.
Assuming 100 hours of recreational use per year, a HYFOIL 32 cuts enough carbon to equal removing one gas-powered car from the road annually.
Over 20 years, that’s the same as planting 4,000+ trees—roughly the carbon impact of a 20-acre U.S. forest. And that’s from just one HYFOIL.
Or simply put: Each HYFOIL trip offsets as much CO₂ as planting up to 10 trees.
And while HYFOIL boats leave a smaller mark on the environment, the environment leaves a smaller mark on you. Our foil-assisted lift smooths out the ride, dampens the chop, and keeps everyone dry—even when the conditions say otherwise.
Less fuel. Lower emissions. A softer ride—and a lighter wake on the planet.
WHAT'S NEXT
This test wasn’t the finish line—it was the starting gun. We’re preparing to bring yet another HYFOIL model to market, while also developing a hull appendage aimed at reducing drag for single-engine setups—part of our ongoing commitment to optimizing performance across every configuration.
We’re grateful for the momentum and the support we’ve received along the way—and if you haven’t experienced a HYFOIL ride yet, we’d love to show you why it’s not just different. It’s better.
Whether you're thinking about efficiency, ride comfort, or real environmental impact—this is the boat that changes the game. Reach out. Take a ride. See it for yourself.
