Who We Are

MICHAEL QUAGLIO, the co-founder and president of HYFOIL Marine, has been immersed in the world of sailboats since his early years, sparking a fervor for comprehending hydrodynamics and optimizing boat speed. As a seasoned USCG 50 Ton Master Captain, two-time world champion sailor, and certified ABYC Master Marine technician, Mike's expertise spans various facets of the marine industry.

His journey with foil-assisted catamaran technology began when he acquired a prototype imported from South Africa, marking the inception of HYFOIL's innovative approach in the United States. Leveraging computational fluid dynamics technologies and collaborating closely with the original designers, Mike has positioned HYFOIL Marine as a trailblazer.

What sets HYFOIL Marine apart is its unique offering – interchangeable sets of foils coupled with modular deck layouts, meticulously designed with recreational, adventure, and commercial boat owners in mind. Mike's commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology and design ensures that HYFOIL Marine delivers a diverse range of high-performance vessels tailored to meet the varied needs of boat enthusiasts worldwide.

KYRA GOLDSMITH , co-founder, and general manager of HYFOIL Marine, boasts a unique background that seamlessly blends finance, technology, and a profound connection to the maritime world. Raised near the ocean, Kyra dedicated her formative years to studying waves and perfecting the art of navigating efficiently through aquatic environments.  She spent her early career specializing in finance, AI and has managed and partnered in many high caliber projects for large corporations and technology startups.

Kyra's expertise extends beyond the boardroom, and she is not only a maritime enthusiast but also a world champion sailor. Her hands-on experience trimming sails, an art that involves skillfully altering the shape of airfoils, make her an invaluable asset to HYFOIL Marine. Her innate understanding of sail shape in relation to the dynamics of a boat cutting through the water grants her unparalleled insights.  Kyra's perspective and dedication help ensure that HYFOIL's vessels are not only technologically advanced but also attuned to the nuances of the open water.
